Game Ideas
Monkey See, Monkey Do
Directions: Have the children touch various parts of their bodies as you call out the action or demonstrate it. Include such motions as hand to back, heel to knee, elbows to ribs. Ask, "What can your hands do? What can your head do? Your feet, arms, and legs?" (They can open, shut, bend, clap, wiggle, nod, wave).
Ten Commandments Number Game
Directions: Use the printout sheets below for this game. Print out both sheets and laminate them. Hang the scroll on a wall where children can reach it easily. Cut out the ten numbered commandments and place tape to the back of each one. Have the children answer simple questions about the Ten Commandments. Sample questions might include:
- How many commandments did God give?
- Who did God have deliver the Ten Commandments to the Israelites?
- What were the Ten Commandments written on?
When a child answers correctly, let them tape a commandment to the scroll until all ten commandments are there.

Stone Tablet Craft
Materials:
- Brown grocery bag
- Glue
- Crayons
- Poly-fil (craft store)
- Stapler
Preparation: Cut two stone tablet shapes out of the grocery bag. Glue around the outside edge of the tablet, leaving the bottom open, and press the two tablets together. Let this dry with something heavy sitting on top to avoid getting wrinkles in the paper.
Directions:
- Give each child a tablet (the two sides glued together makes one tablet).
- Let them decorate it with crayons. They can practice writing the numbers 1 through 10.
- Once they are done with the decorating, give each child some Poly-fil to stuff inside of the tablets (where you left it open on the bottom). Once that is done, staple the bottom shut.
