The ideas below may help you teach a lesson on the ten plagues of Egypt. Feel free to use these ideas to supplement your current curriculum or to make your own lesson.
Story Suggestion

Game Ideas
Leap Frog
Directions: Children must hop over each other's backs while going down a line. Once a child reaches the end of the line, he bends over in front, and the last person gets to go next. Play as long as desired or time allows.
Statues
Directions: The teacher assumes the role of leader in this game. The children must move around acting like cattle (make moo sounds, etc.). When the teacher says "freeze," all of the children must lie down and be as still as possible. When the leader sees a child moving, she will tap them on the shoulder and they have to get up. They are out of the game. The last two children lying still are the winners.
Snacks
A good snack for this lesson would be bug snacks. Use oval crackers for the body, pretzels and peanut butter for the legs, and raisins for the eyes. Yummy!

Fish in the Water
Ingredients:
- 2 boxes cherry Jello
- 1 can fruit cocktail, drained well
- Gummy fish
- Small glass fish bowl
Directions:
- Make the Jello according the package.
- Put drained fruit cocktail in the bottom of the fish bowl and pour the Jello over top. Place in the refrigerator to set.
- When thickened, remove the fish bowl and add gummy fish. Place them in the "water" above the fruit cocktail.
- Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
Art Center Ideas
Ten Plagues Collage
Materials:
- Old nature magazines or outdoors type magazines (or pictures printed from the Internet)
- Poster board
- Crayons
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
Preparation: On each piece of poster board, make 10 boxes (1 for each plague). List the 10 plagues on a board for the children to know what order they happened.
- Give each child a piece of poster board with the 10 squares already drawn on it.
- Let children leaf through magazines (or use your printed pictures) to find a picture that represents each of the 10 plagues. Cut out the pictures (may need adult help).
- Have children glue their pictures into the boxes in order that they happened.
- Let children decorate their collage with crayons.
Moses Spoon Puppet
Materials:
- Wooden craft spoons (from a craft store)
- Small, thin stick
- Paper towels
- Tape
- Rubber bands
- Felt-tip pens
Directions:
- Arrange the paper towel around the handle of the spoon for clothes. Secure with a rubber band.
- Draw a face on the wooden spoon using felt-tip markers.
- Glue the small, thin stick to the paper towel to be Moses' staff.
