Everyone loves cookies. Let your child help you make some of these yummy Christmas cookies. The whole family can enjoy them!

When holidays finally come around you start to feel excited and interested in starting traditions. One that you may want to start with your kids is baking Christmas cookies. When kids are young, even the smallest task that they are allowed to complete or help in will boost their self esteem, as well as encourage their imagination.

No-Bake Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoon of cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2-1/2 cup of oatmeal

Directions:

  1. Combine the cocoa, sugar, milk and butter together in a saucepan on the stove and bring to a rolling boil for two minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients; vanilla, peanut butter, and oatmeal.
  3. Drop by the spoonful onto wax paper to avoid sticking while cooling. Enjoy!

Angel Macaroon Kisses

Ingredients:

  • 1 Angel food cake mix
  • 1/2 cup strawberry soda
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, strawberry soda, and vanilla extract. Mix by hand until well blended.
  4. Fold in coconut and walnuts.
  5. Drop by the teaspoon onto the foil-lined baking sheet at 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes or until light brown.
  7. Cool and store in an air-tight container.

Chocolate Snowdrops

Ingredients:

  • 1 Devil's food cake mix with pudding
  • 2-1/4 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup confectioner's sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine cake mix, whipped topping, and egg. Mix by hand until well blended. The mixture will become sticky.
  3. Drop 1-inch balls of dough into confectioner's sugar and roll gently.
  4. Place ball on a lightly greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and cool. Store in an air-tight container.

Iced Sugar Cookies - 2-Part Recipe

Cookie Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3-1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cookie Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter. Add the eggs, vanilla, and milk. Mix by hand until well blended.
  3. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Heavily cover the countertop with flour and sugar. Roll out the cookie dough to about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough with desired cookie cutter shapes.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.

Icing Ingredients:

  • 4 ounce cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pound confectioner's sugar
  • Milk

Icing Directions:

  1. Mix the cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and confectioner's by hand until well blended.
  2. Thin with milk to a creamy consistency.
  3. Spread on the cooled sugar cookies.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup peanut butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Combine ingredients in a large bowl and mix well by hand.
  3. Roll into 1-inch balls.
  4. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet. Press them down with the back of a fork to make criss-cross designs.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes.
