Game Ideas
The General Says
Directions: The "general" stands in the middle of the circle of chairs and gives commands to each child. These commands are not to be obeyed unless the command begins with the words, "The general says." Any child that follows orders without this authority are out of the game and must leave the circle. Sample commands might include:
- Scratch your head
- Step forward one step
- Salute
- Turn around twice
Apple Guessing Game
Directions: Give each child an apple (they can be green or red, or both). Let each child examine their apple very carefully, looking for anything that they can remember about their apple. Once all of the children have had a chance to do this, collect the apples in a basket and place the basket in the center of the table. Now have the children come up to the basket and see if they can identify their apple. Just like apples can be told apart, God knows each of us, too!
Snacks
A good snack for this lesson would be to use the apples in the game above to slice and provide caramel dip for the apples.
